Mohamed Rifaah
Since childhood, I have been deeply passionate about various forms of art, such as painting, sketching, and graphic novels. Marvel and DC characters have particularly captivated me with their complexity and creative energy, and I feel a strong connection to both their light and dark sides. Artistic expression has always been my personal outlet for imagination and creativity.
As I grew older, my skills developed in figurative drawing, landscapes, and various styles ranging from realism to surreal and fantasy. In 1997, I achieved a significant milestone by winning the First Prize in a competitive inter-school Spot Painting Competition held in Bangalore, India. The recognition I received was a symbol of success and gratitude, not only for myself but also for my school, as it was the first time, we had won that particular prize for the school.
In 2012, I established my own Airbrush Art Studio called ‘Art Fusion’ in Malaysia, specializing in airbrush paintings on vehicles. This meticulous art form honed my observation and execution skills, allowing me to create intricate and precise designs. I continuously modernized and experimented with different mediums, including acrylic polyurethane, and expanded the size of my works.
During my artistic journey, I also ventured into t-shirt printing from 2001 to 2002 and 2012 to 2015, pushing myself to master the technical complexities of painting on fabric. As a perfectionist, I always strive to surpass my limits and never stop learning.
From 2010 to 2018, I worked as a graphic designer in Malaysia while exploring metal and wood art crafting. Additionally, I pursued freelance photography to further enhance my skills. However, in 2018, I decided to take a break, which eventually led me to the humble decision of organizing my solo art exhibition in the Maldives in 2023. This ambitious endeavor allows me to explore fine art, modern art, and fantasy art, constantly expanding the boundaries of my creativity.
